Terms of Use

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the service.

2. Age and authority

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has given you permission to use the service and has had an opportunity to review these terms with you.

If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organisation.

3. What the service does

StudyScope helps users record academic results, view calculations and trends, and prepare prompts that can be used with external AI services. The service may change as features are improved, replaced or discontinued.

The service is not an official academic record, learning-management system, school service, grading authority or professional educational, legal, health or financial adviser. Calculations and generated prompts may contain errors or rely on incomplete information. Check important results against official records and use your own judgement.

4. Your account

You must provide accurate account information, keep your password and email account secure, and promptly tell us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.

Accounts are personal and may not be sold, transferred or shared in a way that compromises security.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of information you enter or import, including academic records, comments and reflections ("Your Content"). You give Harrison Murray a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, process and display Your Content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure and improve the service.

You confirm that you have the right to use Your Content and that it does not unlawfully infringe another person's privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property or other rights. Do not upload unnecessary sensitive information, confidential school records you are not authorised to use, or content that identifies another person without permission.

6. AI Insights and third-party services

StudyScope may prepare an AI prompt from information you select and let you copy it or open an external AI website. We do not automatically submit that prompt. You decide whether to share it, and you should review and remove identifying information first.

Supabase and any external AI site, link or other third-party service has its own terms and privacy practices. Harrison Murray does not control those services and is not responsible for their availability, output or handling of information, except to the extent responsibility cannot be excluded under applicable law.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

• use the service unlawfully, fraudulently or to harm another person;
• access another person's account or data without permission;
• upload malicious code or interfere with the service's security or operation;
• probe, scan, scrape or reverse engineer the service except where applicable law expressly permits it;
• misrepresent generated calculations or insights as official results; or
• use the service to create, store or share unlawful, abusive or rights-infringing material.

8. Availability, changes and suspension

We aim to provide a reliable service, but it may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, faults, security events or provider outages. We may make reasonable changes to features and limits.

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, investigate suspected misuse, comply with law, or respond to a serious breach of these terms. Where practical and appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue.

9. Ending your account

You may stop using the service at any time. To request account and data deletion, email admin@study-scope.com from the address associated with your account.

We may close an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or where continued operation creates a legal or security risk. Sections that are intended by their nature to continue—including ownership, liability and dispute provisions—will survive account closure.

10. Intellectual property

Other than Your Content, Harrison Murray owns or licenses the service, branding, interface, software and related material. These terms do not transfer those rights to you. You may use the service only for its intended personal or authorised organisational purpose.

11. Consumer guarantees and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or another law where doing so would be unlawful.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Harrison Murray is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss caused by inaccurate or incomplete information you provide, decisions based solely on unofficial calculations or AI output, or the acts of an external service. Where liability for a failure to comply with a guarantee can lawfully be limited, our liability is limited, at our option, to supplying the service again or paying the reasonable cost of having it supplied again.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service, providers or law. We will publish the updated terms and change the effective date. For a material change, we will take reasonable steps to notify account holders before it takes effect. If you do not agree to a change, you may stop using the service and request account deletion.

13. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia. The courts of Western Australia have non-exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have to bring a claim elsewhere under applicable law.
